Coffee: a drink made from the roasted and ground beanlike seeds of a tropical shrub, served hot or iced.
So, if coffee is just ground up seeds steeped in water, then what's so special about it? According to Before It's News Coffee is the second most consumed beverage after Tea. That's if water doesn't count. So, in order to show my allegiance to Coffee, I wanted to share with you Why I Love Coffee!
1. It's Just Yummy
So obviously not everyone agrees with this. And, for a long time I was one of them. I either didn't drink coffee or thought that a Starbucks Caramel Frappaccino was coffee. Not that, that drink doesn't have coffee in it, but it's not coffee. When I was a sophomore in high school, that's when I found out that drinking just coffee and cream is delicious too! And, let's face it... way more cost effective. Now I still love a Pumpkin Spice Latte every fall, but I'm much more satisfied by a regular cup of coffee, now.
2. The Caffeine
So, to be completely honest, I think my body straight up doesn't even notice caffeine anymore unless I just overload it. I like to think that having a cup of coffee gives me a little extra energy in the morning or during an afternoon pick me up. It's all in the brain! But, honestly it's probably just mostly the sugar. An average 8 oz cup of coffee contains about 95mg of caffeine. The average person can safely consume 400mg of caffeine, which is about 4 cups of coffee.
3. It Warms the Soul
Nothing is better than coming in from a cold, winter day brewing a cup of coffee and swallowing that first sip and it warming all of your insides. It also warms the soul when you get to sit down and have coffee with a good friend.
4. It Brings People Together
Most of the time when I hang out with people it involves getting coffee to some extent. Some of the best/deepest talks I've had with friends have been over a mug of coffee. There's just something special when you meet at the same coffee shop, every Saturday, and sit in the same chairs almost every weekend for an entire semester. (:
5. The Variety
I love the way that coffee can be transformed into so many different drink! So I thought it would be fun to share what some of my favorite drinks are!

Starbucks: Chai Latte with Coconut Milk and a Shot
Cafe Milo: Chai Latte with Almond Milk
