Farmer's markets are one of my favorite parts of the summer!
In Ames, our Farmer's Market is on Saturdays from 8am-12pm. We have about 30 vendors weekly. Some are consistent and others are sporadic. The produce at the Farmer's Market is, in my opinion, 10x better than anything you buy at the grocery store. I mostly buy fruit when I'm there. One of my favorites is the blackberries from Lee's. They are some of the best blackberries I've ever had!
Not only does our Farmer's Market have produce, but it also has food trucks, crafters, and even a hair braiding booth. That is one of my favorite things, there's so much variety that even if you go back every single week, there's always something new!
This past week at the Farmer's Market I decided to pick up some cherries. I'm a sucker for some good cherries. I picked them up at a very small stand ran by two teen girls. They were super sweet and I think that it was their first time at the market. I love being able to purchase from other small businesses for my small business!
I hope that you all attend your local Farmer's Market! Let me know in the comments what your favorite part of the Farmer's Market!
Until Next Week!
