This week on the Blog, I've partnered with Ragu to tell you guys what "Homestyle" means to me.
To me, Homestyle is my whole family sitting around the table for dinner. Growing up, family dinners were very important to my mom. My dad had a demanding job, so having that hour all together was very important. We developed a system of High's and Low's. You went around the table and were able to say up to 2 good things and 2 bad things that happened that day. That way, we were able to experience a little tidbit of everyone's day. We got to see what everyone's day was like and most times dinner turned into talking for another hour. (:
Following Ragu's theme, I also wanted to share a Recipe with you guys using Ragu's New Homestyle Sauce. I used their Thick and Hearty Roasted Garlic Tomato Sauce. I chose this flavor mainly because I'm freakin' obsessed with garlic. Like I really do love it.
The reason Ragu's Homestyle is so different is because they are focusing on bringing you a Thick and Hearty sauce that coats pasta perfectly. The sauce carries the perfect amount garlic flavor and doesn't even give off the that usual jar sauce taste. I imagine only reason it does this, is because of all the fresh ingredients. Nothing is better than knowing what's in your food!
I like to keep things simple. So for my recipe, I did just that. I made a pretty chill spaghetti with some homemade meatballs. For my meatballs, I mixed together ground beef, onion, garlic, parsley, bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, oregano, onion powder, and basil. For the noodles, I purchased some Gluten-free quinoa noodles from Target. And then for my sauce, my obvious choice was Ragu's Homestyle Roasted Garlic Tomato Sauce.
I will post the full recipe in my Recipe Section!
I hope you guys enjoyed learning about what "Homestyle" means to me. NOW I want to hear about what Homestyle means to you! For me, nothing will ever beat out getting to sit around the table and talk with my family. And I hope that you all have something that comes to mind when you think of "Homestyle".
