Did you forget that this Sunday is Mother's Day?
Hey Everyone,
Did you forget that THIS Sunday (May 8th) is Mother's Day? I know that I for sure, have gotten down to the last second when it comes to birthdays and holidays. So, I'm here to give you some ideas for your Mom, Grandma, Aunt, Wife, or Mom figure in your life. I'm going to give you some different options from online stores to some stores located in Central Iowa.
The first place to go for something unique is the Kitchen Collage. They are located at 430 E. Locust St. in the East Village of Des Moines. They sell, like their name suggests, a collage of all things kitchen. The cool thing about them is that they also offer classes through the Des Moines Social Club. They are offering some pretty cool classes like The Art of the Tart, Chocolate Mousse, and Knife Skills. So, if your mom is always looking to learn something new, then this might something to check out. Classes can range from $20.00-$240.00.
Now if your mom is into having the best equipment in the kitchen then look no further than Williams-Sonoma, they are located right inside Jordan Creek Mall. They have everything from cookware, bakeware, cutlery, and actual food. They have some of the best selection, they can be a little on the pricey side, but they have good quality products.
Two of my favorite things from their website are their flour sifter for $24.95 and peanut butter and jelly truffles on sale for $9.99. Right now they have a lot of awesome sales going on, and if you think it's to expensive just remember that each section has its own sale section and they have a great selection of on sale items!
Cooks' Emporium is located on Main Street in Ames. They are a smaller shop that sells tons of kitchen essentials. They sell everything from cookware, cooking utensils, and knives. They are a great shop and you also get to support a local business by shopping here! They offer demonstrations at their store. They cost $5.00 per person and you get to watch the demo, taste the product, and you get a 10% off coupon. Sounds like a fun mother daughter date to me! They have one on May 7th on Pork Chops with Rhubarb and a Fruit Tart demo on May 15th, they start promptly at 10 a.m.
The last and almost, most obvious one is Amazon. With their growing popularity, they are a very easy way to get just about anything. Just recently my brother and sister got me an awesome marble rolling pin for my birthday. They know me so well! It's a great heavy duty rolling pin and I can't wait to start using it. Amazon even has a whole Mother's Day Home and Kitchenware section! If you have Prime, you can also usually get FREE 2-day shipping!
This post was so much fun to write and I hope that you have some newfound ideas for what you can get that special lady in your life! Leave me a comment if you used any of my ideas!

Question of the Day!
Do you have any Mother's Day traditions? Ours usually involve us kids making my mom breakfast in bed (:
