December 3rd, was quite an adventure!
December 3rd, I got to sleep in, eat my weight in saltines, and roadtripping to Des Moines. There was a German Christmas inspired market in Des Moines this weekend! It's still going on today! Look for them on Facebook at Christkindle Market on Facebook!
After being in Germany over the holidays a few years ago, I was way overly excited to visit this market. They had a few of the same things like the classic Glow Wine, the wooden cottages, and festive music.
In Germany, all of the vendors sell out of these adorable wooden cottages. They decorate them with their products or just with festive decorations. It's very cool at night when all of them are lit up.
Food is another big part of their Christmas markets. There are sausages, pretzels, burgers, and so many sweets. Luckily here, we had the Salt Pretzel Co. truck to supply us with delicious sausages and pretzels.
After we had enjoyed all of the market, Ariana and I walked to Capes Cafe. They are a comic book themed cafe located inside the Des Moines Social Club. All of their drinks are inspired and named after super heroes and they also happen to have 3 pinball machines. It's a great place to get your creative juices flowing!
After we got home from Des Moines, I ran so errands and then babysat. It was a pretty great day!
What is your favorite part about winter?
