For more info on my Top 5 Knives, check it out here.
My friends over at Reviews.com conducted an experiment on what the best chef knife of 2017 was. How awesome is it that a group of people wanted to play around with chef knives all day.
The group at Review, begins by saying how the best chef knives cannot be defined by a single set of features. There are so many things that go into the makings of a great knife. And it's honestly different for everyone. Instead of naming the ultimate best knife, they actually broke it down into three different categories. Best Overall, Best Starter Knife, and Best for Experienced Chefs. During testing, they chopped herbs, vegetables, and proteins. This helped determine which were sharpest. They also took into account the comfort of the knife handle.
My 3rd and Final Post about Knives!
For those of you that have been following along in my little mini series, you got to see what's in my knife bag, what knives I recommend be in everyone's kitchen, and now finally how to best take care of the knives you have now!
If you were following my last post, then you might be wondering what knives I recommend for the beginner in the kitchen? Here are the 5 knives I think should be in every kitchen!
So sorry my post is a day late! I'm currently on vacation in North Carolina!
As you saw in my post last week, I have quite the collection on knives and various other kitchen tools. My whole knife kit cost around $300, which if you added everything up was quite the steal. But without further ado, let's get into the top 5 knives you should own!
A Chef's Knives are one of their most prized possessions!
So, when I started Culinary School, we were required to buy a knife kit. The school gave us a recommended brand and store, but ultimately it was up to us to choose the knives we wanted for school. Since I had basically no knowledge about knives before I started school, I decided to go with the recommended kit, as did most of my other classmates. I love my knives and today I wanted to show you what all came in my knife kit!
My name's Abby. I am a Iowa Culinary Institute graduate, current owner of a small online bakery, and a transaction coordinator to a couple pretty cool realtors. All in all, life is busy, but the kitchen never changes, so join me as we Take on the Kitchen!
